Your store's layout, terminology, colors, styles, and images are controlled by its theme. EnNrely CreaNng a new topic for your site is beyond the scope of this book. Covering it would require a book by itself enNre. However, you can easily replace the default theme your site with a topic that someone has built for you. In many theme addiNon to pay, you can fi nd many free themes on the web as well.
The files for the theme of your store is located in two folders:
1 / app / design / frontend / default / default / -This directory contains the layout, translaNons for labels and terms, and patterns.
2. / skin / frontend / default / default / -This folder contains images, style sheets, and JavaScript for blocks.
The final section of the path, / default, the name of the theme that comes with Magento, the default theme. When you install a new theme, you will put it fi les under / app / design / frontend / default and / skin / frontend / default. For example, I downloaded
Linen theme free www.magthemes.com , and copy it fi les in / app / design / frontend / default / linen and / skin / frontend / default / linen.
When I unzipped the pack to thread Linen, it contains these folders:
